A project to keep dolphins in captivity in the U.S. Virgin Islands is endangering 250 coral colonies within the proposed enclosure area. However, there is an alternative that could help preserve the coral reefs, enhance tourism, and avoid holding dolphins in captivity.
So, I write down my thoughts. Perhaps one day a human will read them and realise, “Yes, a Cow does have passion. Does have meaning in her life.”
I am full of this place,
Her forests, her rivers,
Her birds, her animals,
This suffering place,
This place we have desecrated…

A wasteland
Destruction everywhere
Broken trees
Jagged earth
Silence, ugliness,
Desolation…
They slip quietly into extinction
Little fragile ones,
Dusky seaside sparrows,
Mission blue butterflies.
Great peaceful giants,
Elephants, whales…
