While the global number of vegans rises each year, so does the number of animals killed for meat. Without a larger commitment to antispeciesism, what purpose does the vegan label serve, and how much change can it ultimately create?
Do we have a right to keep dogs and other animals in service for physical and emotional support? The issue comes down to the longstanding welfare versus rights debate within animal protection.
Someday in the future, a population of rabbits on a distant archipelago might be something people would marvel at. The focus of conservation should be on promoting environmental stability rather than attempting to reintroduce or eliminate particular species.
People and the public need to be educated of the dangers and outcomes of keeping primates as pets. Where did they come from? How did they end up in the pet shop? Once they are a grown adult, will you still be able and willing to take care of them?
To effectively combat the hunting industry, animal advocates must put aside all sentiment and focus on the money, in order to convince African governments that hunting is a wasteful use of land and that rural economies will benefit far more from non-consumptive ecotourism.

According to Judaism, animals are part of God’s creation and people have special responsibilities to them. The Jewish tradition clearly indicates that we are forbidden to be cruel to animals and that we are to treat them with compassion.
