Kaziranga National Park in India, famous for its large population of rhinoceroses, saw the poaching of yet another rhino this week. Poachers have killed nine Indian Rhinos this year, raising concerns over negligence from the concerned authorities.

Researchers from Duke University and UNC-Chapel Hill are testing the ability of drones to detect sharks in coastal waterways. Drones could eventually help alert swimmers to the presence of a shark, as well as track and study sea turtles, seals, and other marine animals.
According to Wayne Pacelle, president of HSUS and author of The Humane Economy, animal protection should not be seen as a sacrifice, but an opportunity.
