FIAPO, the Federation of Indian Animal Protection Organizations’ latest campaign, ‘#MyDesiValentine’, aims to empower our NGO members by helping them to conduct adoption drives across the country. As part of the campaign, we are supporting our NGO members digitally and enabling them to connect with a wider audience of pet lovers.
More and more NGOs are lining up their #MyDesiValentine Adoption Drives all across India: in Mumbai, Nagpur, Kerala, Goa, and elsewhere. Most significantly, we are exhilarated with the outstanding response to the adoption drives that are happening in Kerala, a state with an infamous history of human-dog conflict. The first organization to hold an adoption drive was People for Animals, Trivandrum, with an overwhelming response of 100% adoption. More are in the pipeline, organized by various other organisations across the state.
This comes as uplifting news, especially in conflict-ridden Kerala where we continue our efforts to build a #RabiesFreeKerala in which people and street dogs can peacefully coexist. With the encouraging response to desi adoption drives like these, it’s clear that the times are changing – slowly but steadily.
We are grateful to the many organisations who’ve stepped up to encourage people to spend their Valentine’s Day with a furry twist. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to read success stories bound to put a smile on your face!
Throughout the month of February, we will continue to run #MyDesiValentine, and support our member NGOs in conducting these adoption drives across the country, providing them a chance to reach out to more people and make their event an even bigger success by showcasing their work on FIAPO’s various platforms.
