Author Anita Mayangpuspa

Anita has always sensed her own interconnectedness with other creatures, despite growing up in a community desensitized to animal suffering. Anita became a spokesperson for animals in Indonesia, forming her own group in 2007, which was one of the earliest animal welfare groups in the country. She has also volunteered with Jakarta Animal Aid Network and several other organizations. Anita graduated from Institut Teknologi Bandung with a major in Visual Communication Design in 2007, followed by a Post Graduate from University of Birmingham in Strategic Marketing and Consulting in 2010. These contribute to Anita’s work focus, which revolves around the research, educational and marketing side of the movement, including contribution on mass spay and neuter projects in Indonesia. Anita’s extensive background in the media industry and lifelong interests in animal rights and welfare are what ultimately brought her to Animal People as Social Media Coordinator. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, occasional dancing, and just being the global citizen she is. Click to see author's profile.
