POETRY: In Sorrow and In Anger

The machines roar
In the forest
On the factory farm,
On the trails,
In the skies,
In the oceans.
Nowhere is there peace.

Man
And his machines
Destroying everything
For his God:
The dollar, the yen
The peso, the pound, the deutschmark.

Everything in flight.
Refugees everywhere.
People, animals, birds,
Forests, rivers.
Victims of the one percent.

Revolution.

We have the numbers,
But are we too dumbed-down
With our video games
Our internet toys
Our smart phones?

After we have killed everything off
Will we, too, just quietly
Die off?
