Conservation groups in Africa have also promoted dog-eating as an alternative to bushmeat, and most of them support factory farming of cane rats. The only thing that will save the earth’s wildlife – including endangered species – is a turn away from the consumption of animals of all kinds, instillation of compassion and respect for life in all its forms, and teaching of moral reasoning as the basis for humane education.
