Given their hatred of exotic/feral species who integrate themselves into habitats where they did not originate, it would be logical (and humane) for the conservation organizations that push cruel extermination methods would mount campaigns to end the exotic pet trade of reptiles, amphibians, birds, fish, mammals, etc., but they do not. Fortunately, the newts being hunted in the article are not killed.
